The Fake Call Up Letters Turns Out to be Real, Only Leaked #MyCorperDiary
After tired of already waiting the whole day for the most anticipated NYSC posting, I finaly got a text from NYSC, then a mail. Funny the content of the mail was short and somehow unnecessary "Dear (My Name), you have now been deployed. Your Call-up letter is ready. Pls. go back to the portal and print your Call-up letter." I thought NYSC was going to send my letter of deployment via email as either an attachment or at least the body of the message. They just told me it was ready and redirected me to go and que on the already congested website.
I visited the website and, for a while nothing came up except "Error 503." From my little experience in web, i know anything "Error 5**" comes from the server. I was rest assured that my internet device was now working fine. Then it went through and for a moment I was happy my information has finally reached me. Then I got the surprise of my life. I felt a chill run down my spine as "No Record Fund" stared at me strait in the face. I was confused for a moment.
At first, it was a server error. Now it is "Details not found." A part of me said, "At least I'm getting closer. So i tried one more time and Viola! I saw it with my eyes. The details were exactly the same with the "Fake Call Up Letter." That implies it was a real call up letter that leaked. Now, knowing where I'm serving is no longer an issue on my mind, getting there and surviving there is now the main thing.
Once again congrats to friends who got exactly where they wanted; double congrats to those who got where God will have them go; good-luck to those shocked by the outcome and are considering redeployment. Finally, happy endurance to those who are still mourning their state of deployment.
Finally (hopefully the last time), I want to hand hover the suspense baton to those who did not pay the 4,000 to continue earnestly in the race of imagination and tension. Ciao
Fake Callup Letters #MyCorperDiary
I just got this message:
WARNING!!!
This information is for batch C 2014 prospective corps members about the call-up-letter. Information reaching us is that some group of people have decided to fake a link (http://www.nysc.org.ng/callupform.aspx) for prospective corps members so as to print their call-up-letter. This is FAKE. And for your information, NYSC will send you your call-up-letter via your personal e-mail, and also you will be able to check it via the three (3) links sent via SMS. Thank you.
There are quite a number of things out of place.

- The site was too detailed to be a fraud. I had our passports, full names etc. Could it be that they used it to test the capacity of the application? If this was the case, I must say it is a wise decision. So much for an 800 million naira application. They needed that kind of testing. The application cannot obviously accommodate the volume of people visiting it at the same time.
- Could it be someone on the inside creating a backdoor for a friend to check which eventually leaked? Its hard for someone to keep such a secret. I will only tell a few of my friends who will promise not to tell anyone. But it turns out that m friend also has other dear friends.
- Could it be hackers at work? If so it was well though out. This looked like some wizkid showing off his hacking ability by revealing the most anticipated information on the planet as of today
Whatever the case is, we have to wait. NYSC promised us emails, not a website to go and print our callup letters. At least, let us enjoy our 4000 Naira to the fullest.
800 Million Naira Website Down, Na Wa O! #MyCorperDairy
The administration of the National Youth Service Corps earlier claimed to have spent 800 Million Naira to create the portal for online registration and printing of Callup Letters.
Even if the census and mathematical data of graduates doesn't make any sense, I expect that you should have learnt from the Experience of the Nigerian Immigration Services registration exercise. Now an 800 Million Naira Service is unavailable when it is needed the most.
We are not asking you not to spend 800 Million Naira, all we are asking is for the best, fastest and most prompt service.
Callup Letter: Seeing is Believing #MyCorperDiary
I have been online for 48 hours non stop and enjoying great service. From time to time, I'll look up details and check my mail perhaps NYSC has send any message. And when it was needed most, my data was exhausted. This morning I woke up as early as 5 am only to realize my data has finished.
The anxiety grew. My feet were literately cold and I was sweating. I waited till morning light before I could go out to recharge my phone. I guess I got out too early as I still had to walk for awhile before I found someone selling recharge. I was his first customer for the day and had to wait for him to open his store. I got the card and started to try again.
I got to the first page requesting for my callup number. I entered it and I could not proceed. I thought it was the network. I went out again to buy recharge card for another network. The average internet user has more than one option, and i am not left out. After recharging the problem persists. I doubles the dose as anyone would prescribe but the symptoms persist.
I had to forward my Callup number to a friend to to help check. After toying with my emotions the more and putting me in suspense, she eventually told me. IT IS THE COLDEST PLACE IN NIGERIA. I am using this opportunity to ask for donations of blankets and winter jackets to help my ministry ;-)
As i havent seen it myself, i wont announce with megaphones. I'll just whisper to the few people who ask. As soon as I see it for myself, I'll make the official declaration. Seeing is believing.

Invitation to Fellow Prospective Corp Members #MyCorperDiary
This is an open invitation to prospective Corp members, Batch C especially, who love to write and would love to share their experiences with friends and family or knows someone who might be interested. Kindly drop a comment here or send me a message (especially Gmail address) so that I add you up as one of the contributors on this blog. One tree cannot make a forest! If Linda Ikeji can do that Linda IBEJI will do much more :-D
Where is Our Letter #MyCorperDiary #7DaysToGo
We all have been waiting to know our fate today. After we have waited for so long, the pressure can only but build up. I found out that the letters will be out tomorrow. I can imagine how many people I have to explain to that the letters will no longer be out today.
Isn't it funny? Life is funny. There are some people who would not even worry one bit. They already know where they will be serving, either by revelation or manipulation (Hand of God or Leg of the hand of a man of God ;-)).
NYSC, where is our letter? Send us a mail and end this emotional misery; let's know our fate and start saving up our transport fare and making contacts if any; let my brethren know the credibility of those who promised them a good place; let my people know where to get a refund and those to give an appreciation gift.
And to my fellow prospective Corpers, I wish you good luck. This is probably a chance for someone's name to be properly placed. Looking forward to having a great time and serving my country.
