Fake Callup Letters #MyCorperDiary

I just got this message:

WARNING!!!
This information is for batch C 2014 prospective corps members about the call-up-letter. Information reaching us is that some group of people have decided to fake a link (http://www.nysc.org.ng/callupform.aspx) for prospective corps members so as to print their call-up-letter. This is FAKE. And for your information, NYSC will send you your call-up-letter via your personal e-mail, and also you will be able to check it via the three (3) links sent via SMS. Thank you.

There are quite a number of things out of place.

  • The site was too detailed to be a fraud. I had our passports, full names etc. Could it be that they used it to test the capacity of the application? If this was the case, I must say it is a wise decision. So much for an 800 million naira application. They needed that kind of testing. The application cannot obviously accommodate the volume of people visiting it at the same time.
  • Could it be someone on the inside creating a backdoor for a friend to check which eventually leaked? Its hard for someone to keep such a secret. I will only tell a few of my friends who will promise not to tell anyone. But it turns out that m friend also has other dear friends.
  • Could it be hackers at work? If so it was well though out. This looked like some wizkid showing off his hacking ability by revealing the most anticipated information on the planet as of today
Whatever the case is, we have to wait. NYSC promised us emails, not a website to go and print our callup letters. At least, let us enjoy our 4000 Naira to the fullest.

  1. Whenever a new style is been premiered in this country, the pioneer always suffer somehow. i am not surprised because we trying to digitalized things that are been managed by people with analog brain. So, whatever it is and however it comes, please bear the pain for those coming behind to get the gain. That is the Nigeria Factor.
